Media and Communications Officer

Station: Harare Closing Date: 15/11/18 QUALIFICATIONS *A degree in Media and Communications, Journalism or Public Relations; At least three years experience in a similar post *Significant knowledge and experience working in the NGO sector as media person in Zimbabwe and the region; Knowledge and appreciation of Zimbabwe and the region in terms of political, economic, social and environmental developments as they relate to natural resources governance; Experience of and ability to represent the organization professional in the media; Experience with and understanding of natural resources governance an its linkages to democracy, good governance and sustainable development; Politically sensitivity and awareness, with ability to inspire high levels of confidence, good professional judgment and ability to negotiate effectively and positively portray organizational work in the media while protecting its image; Excellent facilitation, influencing and persuasive skills with ability to build strong, credible relationships to communicate with and transfer information to a wide audience to advance the organization’s objectives; Excellent analytical and conceptual thinking skills with good strategic perspective; able to understand complex issues and information from different sources and present this clearly and simply; Excellent personal communication skills in written and verbal English with ability to conceptualize, research and deliver compelling media stories at a high level; Excellent personal skills in training and presentations, facilitation and coaching with proven experience; Strong organizational and personal management skills, with ability to prioritize work issues to meet deadlines with minimal supervision and adjust to constantly changing situations while maintaining focus on delivery and follow through; Relevant qualifications in media, communications or related field, preferable at post graduate level is desirable TO APPLY: Please submit a writing sampl
